Reblog: Chris' Universal Lord's Prayer |
If you haven't read Chris the Cynic's post on the Lord's Prayer and its universality, you are missing out on so many layers of awesome. It's insightful wrapped in hilarious and dipped in awesome-sauce, almost like how I imagine a banana wrapped in bacon and then fried in butter and doused in chocolate would taste. Hypothetically.

And if you've already read it, read it again! I'm glad I did.

You realise I am now compelled to try this to find out if it's actually good. *adds bananas to mental grocery list*
Oh dear. Um... *consults lawyer* "Ana Mardoll's Ramblings is not responsible for injury or damage resulting from food discussions on the blog. I gushed about it at Stealing Commas, because awesome.
So I have my copy Steam-Powered II: Lesbian Steampunk Stories, and I have been tearing through it. I feel like Old Spice Man: "What's in my hand? That book full of stuff you love!" It is Completely Amazing OMG. If you have money, go buy it now so they'll do a third one.
What comes of being a slash fan is that I keep sort of disbelievingly staring at it, going "Is this book really canon?!?" Because the protagonists get to be awesome and get the girl. Whether The Girl is one of the the heroines, or a minor or offscreen but respected and beloved character.
I want them all made into movies, too. TOO MUCH FUN, ya'll. I'm only halfway through and concerned I may explode from trying to contain so much awesome and squee. This is my attempt to release some to the internet.
Because the mermaid and the spy and the UNEXPECTED HAPPY ENDING IS UNEXPECTED AND HAPPY. And the sexy chess/diplomatic intrigue/clockwork engineering. F*** Yeah! (Next story is by Nisi Shawl. I foresee not much sleep tonight and prowling the internet for someone to gush to.)
Do you really need the butter, though, when you've got bacon fat? It seems to me adding butter would make things altogether too greasy.
Plantains would definitely go well with bacon and/or butter. Not sure about the chocolate, but then I'm not a fan of bananas with chocolate in general.

I was thinking that, yes.
I was thinking maple sugar instead of chocolate, for that bananas foster-y/ maple cured bacon punch.
