Open Thread: Water

But what is water? It's a difficult question, because water is impossible to describe. One might ask the same about birds. What are birds? We just don't know.

So... we have no water in our house.

I mean, ok, we have water.  We have a Brita filter in the fridge full of water.  We have two gallon-jugs in each bathroom that my husband picked up for the washing of hands, etc.  I've got a bottle of Dasani in the diaper bag, left over from PrideFest.  But, uh... the sort of water that comes out when you turn on a faucet, or that refills the toilet after you flush it - nope.

On the other hand, I'm told the grass on the side of the house where we have an exposed water pipe got a surplus today.  So there's that.

If the universe is the kind and loving place that I hope it is, then by the time this posts tomorrow this situation will have been resolved.  But in the meantime:

Open thread!  Water is actually my favorite of the four elements; what's yours?  Here in Florida, I've had to deal with both severe floods and severe droughts - have you experienced these, and do you have any cool stories about it?  Water is my daughter's favorite toy - do you like to play in water?  I've been trying to kick my Diet Coke habit and drink more water instead - do you like to drink plain water, or do you prefer juices, sodas, flavored waters, tea, etc.?  That picture up there reminds me of Rock Springs, one of my favorite parks.  Do you have any parks near you with cool springs or rivers or things for people to swim or float in?

Wednesday Reminder!  Open threads are meant to be fun, chatty places to discuss anything that doesn’t “fit” into a deconstruction or other regular thread.  This can be something totally off-the-wall and random, or it can be something interesting that a deconstruction prompted you to think of, but which would be derailing to get into in the deconstruction thread.  When in doubt, move it over here - that’s what it’s for!

And, like on all threads: please remember to use the "post new comment" feature rather than the "reply" feature, even when directly replying to someone else!
